About Staq AI

Staq is an AI-powered information tool for Indian investors and taxpayers. It explains your portfolio and tax data and runs the maths — it does not give personalised investment advice.

AI-generated information — not investment advice. Decisions are yours.

What Staq does

Staq reads the data you give us — your statements, your portfolio, your tax inputs — and uses AI to explain what is happening and to run the maths on common Indian tax and investment computations (e.g. old-vs-new regime, capital-gains scenarios). On every AI response you will see the inline footer:

AI-generated information — not investment advice. Decisions are yours. [Why?]

That string is the canonical disclosure on every AI-generated surface in Staq. It is asserted server-side. If the footer is missing, the response is not shown.

What is AI-generated, what is deterministic

Staq separates the two clearly. Numbers are computed. Explanations are generated.

  • Deterministic (reproducible from your inputs): tax-regime computations, capital-gains maths, portfolio totals, credit-score breakdowns. Same inputs, same numbers, every time.
  • AI-generated (Claude family, hosted on Anthropic): the Coach scenario explainer, the daily tip, the news/insider explainer, and the long-form text that surrounds the numbers.

What Staq does not do

  • Staq does not give you personalised investment advice. It does not recommend specific securities, time the market for you, or tell you what to buy or sell.
  • Staq is not a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser. For personalised advice, consult a registered IA.
  • AI responses are not reviewed by a human before being shown to you. If something looks wrong, please flag it from the response footer.

How decisions stay with you

Every AI response in Staq is framed as information you can act on, not a recommendation we are making for you. We will say “if you sell X, the maths looks like this” — never “you should sell X.” If you ever see an AI response that crosses that line, that is a bug. Tell us.

Changes to this page

When we change how AI works in Staq — new surfaces, model changes, new computations that count as deterministic — this page is the one we update first. The version you accepted at onboarding is recorded against your account.
